InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa
Inspired by the architecture of Morocco and Moorish Spain, the five–star InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa in Scottsdale is a luxurious community of guest rooms, suites, spa, pools, and restaurants nestled in foothills of Camelback Mountain. Couples love the setting, European ambiance, and the fine service that the Montelucia provides.
With more than 250 guest rooms, nearly 40 suites, a villa, and presidential suite, the InterContinental Montelucia gives the impression of a centuries–old town square with arched passages, flowing fountains, and walkways adorned with flowers. The resort presents its guestrooms by the views they provide—of the resort, the pool, or the nearby mountains. All are more than 500 square feet and feature Divine Beds by Joya Spa, a 42–inch LCD screen HDTV, spacious private balconies with thoughtful appointments, complimentary high–speed wireless internet access, and a tiled bathroom with sunken tub, separate shower, and exclusive–label bath and beauty products. One–bedroom suites encompass 40 square feet and feature a sofa bed and private patio. The Camelback Villa and Andalusian Presidential Suite each spread two bedrooms, two–and–a–half bath suites, and much more across a 2,800 square–foot floor plan.
One of the most remarked–upon features of the Montelucia is the two–story, 31,000 square–foot spa on the premises, Joya. The Joya Spa features 19 treatment rooms, the Hammam bathing ritual, a zero–gravity pedicure chair, a massage table that vibrates in tune to the music, and a rooftop pool terrace with cabanas and wonderful views.
All of the Montelucia's six dining options, and its 24–hour room service, feature organic and local foods. The restaurants also maintain extensive wine lists. Among the on–site restaurants are the award–winning Prado, and Mbar, which offers contemporary Italian cuisine. The Joya Terrace spa bistro highlights fresh juice drinks, ROQ Outdoor American Bistro provides American classics poolside, and Crave Café satisfies with Lavazza coffee drinks and house–made gelato.
As you would expect, the InterContinental Montelucia is popular choice for destination weddings. But the resort makes the most of its meeting and reception capability by catering to business gatherings as well. The Montelucia has seven outdoor event locations that range in size from 500 to 23,000 square feet, two ballrooms, 14 breakout rooms, two private dining rooms, and six hospitality suites. Whether for pleasure or business, for a couple or your company, the Montelucia provides an intimate setting for special occasions.
